武漢鐳星多級二分之一波片由單片石英晶體制作而成,厚度相較于其他波片較厚,加工易實現(xiàn),耐溫性和損傷閾值相較于零級波片較低。多級波片產(chǎn)生了多個級次的相位延遲,當一束線偏振光垂直入射到由單軸晶體制成的波片時,在波片中分解為沿原方向傳播但振動方向互相垂直的o光和e光,相應的折射率為no、ne。
